David Armistead has 17 years of technology services experience in the financial services industry.  During his career, Davidís responsibilities have included management consulting, understanding client needs, operational and technology consulting, system implementations, and the management of a software and services operating unit. 

David joined Congruent Solutions in 2011.  Congruent provides retirement software and services solutions.  Prior to joining Congruent, David spent his career at SunGard Wealth Management in the Omni Retirement Services Division.  His responsibilities at SunGard included operations management, sales, and marketing of recordkeeping platforms, workflow systems and business process outsourcing.   

David is a graduate of Millsaps College (B.S.) and The London School of Economics and Political Science (MSc).  He holds Series 7 and 63 licenses.

Chris Augelli

Chris Augelli is Vice President of Product Marketing & Business Development for ADP Retirement Services, a leading retirement services provider with greater than 37,000 clients, 1.3 million participants, and $42 billion in assets under administration.  Mr. Augelli's organization is responsible for product marketing, investment strategy, and marketing communications.  He is also responsible for ADP's alliance distribution relationships with leading financial services firms and its strategic outsourcing & acquisition initiatives.  He previously led ADP Retirement Services' Sales Operations organization, with responsibility for the strategic and logistical support of RS' 200+ FINRA licensed retirement sales specialists.

Mr. Augelli has 17 years' experience in the retirement industry. He began his career as a Benefits Analyst for Sedgwick Noble Lowndes, a third party administrator that provided a broad range of administrative and consultative services to qualified plans, prior to joining ADP in 1999.

Mr. Augelli is a graduate of RutgersUniversity and maintains his Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF) designation. 

William Byerly

As Senior Vice President of operations management at SunGard, William (Bill) Byerly is responsible for the direction and growth of managed services operations for SunGard's wealth and retirement administration business.  With more than 30 years of experience, and 15 plus years of demonstrated success specific to the retirement services industry, Bill drives operational improvements that have decreased costs, increased profits and retained clients.  His strong history of reorganizing and building scalable, comprehensive and highly productive service delivery platforms is attributed to his passionate, disciplined, creative and energetic leadership and balanced management style.  Adept at restructuring organizations to create improved capabilities and profit contribution, while adding significant organizational depth and capabilities, Bill has held leadership positions at American Funds, Prudential and JPMorgan Chase firms.  Bill graduated from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA with a major in Business Administration and received his MBA from Mary Mount University in Arlington, VA.  Bill is married with two children and resides in Kennebunkport, Maine.  

Sean Cunniff

Sean Cunniff is the Head of Asset Management Research for the DeloitteCenter for Financial Services. In this role, Sean is responsible for driving eminence and thought leadership for this sector at Deloitte.

Sean has more than 20 years of experience in the financial service industry. Most recently he served as a Senior Vice President for SunGard Financial Systems Wealth & Retirement business. Prior to SunGard, Sean was a Research Director at CEB|TowerGroup. Sean has also served in product management and development roles at several major financial institutions.

Sean is a graduate of Boston College and Suffolk University Law School.  He is a Certified Financial Planner and a licensed attorney in the State of Massachusetts. Sean serves on the Advisory Board of Lazarus House Ministries, an organization that offers emergency shelter, food, clothing, transitional housing, advocacy, education and work training for individuals living in poverty.

Teresa Dennehy

Teresa is Head of Complementary Services within TIAA-CREFs Product organization, where she is responsible for a talented team of people specializing in the development for Non-Qualified, Defined Benefit, and Retiree Healthcare products and services.  She is charged with bringing products to the market that drive client satisfaction through innovation, optimization of business processes, and strong alignment of service capabilities with client valued activities.

Prior to this role, she worked as a consultant for The BridgePoint Group, where she led several engagements focused on competitive analysis and benchmarking, change management, product lifecycle and corporate transformation.

She has more than 27 years in the retirement and benefits administration industry and her leadership experience expands across many service lines including operations, client services, financial controls, call center, and business optimization.

Between 2008 and 2012, Teresa served as Managing Director and Head of Operations for J.P. Morgan Chase, where she lead the Implementation, Client Services, Operations, and Business Optimization teams for their retirement business.  Between 2003 and 2008, Teresa served as WorldWide Partner and Head of US Operations in the Retirement and Benefits Outsourcing business at Mercer Outsourcing.  Here she led the teams responsible for service delivery in defined contribution, defined benefit, and health and welfare operations.  She began her career at Putnam Investments, where she served in a variety of roles within portfolio accounting, pricing, operations, and relationship management.

Teresa is a native of Boston, MA and currently resides in Kansas City, MO.  She is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business.

Derek Dorn

Derek B. Dorn, a partner of Davis & Harman LLP, leverages Washington know-how and technical proficiency to help clients identify and advance their priorities through the policymaking process. His practice concentrates on legislative and regulatory matters related to taxation and benefits, with a particular emphasis on retirement policy. Derek provides legal and policy counsel, technical advice, and advocacy on matters before Congress, the Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service, and the Department of Labor.

He joined the Firm from the U.S. Senate, where he served most recently as Senior Finance Counsel to Senator Jeff Bingaman (D-NM) and Staff Director of the Senate Finance Subcommittee on Energy, Natural Resources & Infrastructure. In those roles, Derek was lead adviser on taxation, pension/retirement, budget, and economic policy to Senator Bingaman, a senior Member of the Finance and Health, Education, Labor & Pensions (HELP) Committees. Earlier, Derek was Economic Policy Counsel to Senator Joseph Lieberman (I-CT).

Before entering public service, Derek managed a global investment research company's Washington office. He began his career practicing in the tax, trusts and estates groups of a major global law firm's New York office.

A New York native, Derek received a B.S. (honors in labor economics) from Cornell University and a J.D. from Yale Law School, where he was a senior editor of the Yale Law Journal and the Yale Law & Policy Review. Since 2008, he has been an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University Law Center.

Cynthia has built Oculus Partners into a consulting firm with over 40 employees and contractors, 25 clients, and over $12 million in annual revenue. Oculus has helped financial services companies, both large and small, in designing new products, new distribution and marketing strategies, new delivery channels (including call centers, web, and branch-based delivery), and has developed strong marketing and practice management programs in the retirement arena and more broadly in the wealth management arena.

Prior to forming Oculus, she retired from Merrill Lynch as a Managing Director of their Retirement Group where she held senior positions in business line management, sales, marketing, operations and strategy. Cynthia served as a driver of business, product, and marketing strategies for all retirement related businesses including Employer Plans, and Individual Retirement. As business line executive, she was responsible for the Retirement Investment Platforms, Institutional Integrated Benefits, Equity Award Services, and Small Business Retirement. She also served as Senior Marketing and Strategy Officer for Merrill Lynch Trust Company and the Merrill Lynch Financial Advisory Center.

Prior to Merrill Lynch, Cynthia was Senior Vice President of NationsBank (now Bank of America) responsible for Institutional Trust Operations and launching the daily 401(k) business. Other roles include Senior Marketing Officer for a national portfolio management software firm, Portfolio Manager for a boutique investment management firm, and Pension Consultant for a national broker/dealer.

Cynthia was named as one of 5 finalists in "Most Important Women in the 401(k) Industry" in 2007, and has been in the top 100 "Most Important People in the 401(k) Industry for multiple years. Cynthia also serves as President of Aspen River Securities, and Aspen River Capital, LLC. She carries the CFA and CEBS designations. Cynthia and her husband David have 4 children and eight grandchildren and live in Atlanta, GA.

Throughout his career, David has developed a unique ability to explain complex economic and market issues in a language that financial advisors can use to communicate to their clients. David is a CFA charterholder. He also has a Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from Michigan State University and a B.A. in Economics from University College Dublin in the Republic of Ireland.

Eric Levy

Eric is the Head of Product and Solutions Management for Lincoln's Retirement Plan Services business. He is responsible for leading an experienced and dedicated team, which develops and manages Lincoln's Retirement Plan Services suite of products and services.  As a member of Lincoln's Retirement Plan Services Senior Management Committee, Eric is charged with driving Lincoln's efforts to bring client centric solutions to market and is responsible for product and solutions development, management, positioning and pricing. 

Prior to Lincoln, Levy served as Worldwide Partner and Defined Contribution Business Leader for Mercer's Outsourcing business in the U.S. From 1995-2004, Levy served as Managing Director of Strategic Relationship Development at Putnam Investments, promoting business growth by leading the development and expansion of the variable annuity, sub-advisory, private equity and retail 401(k) businesses. Levy began his career at Fidelity Investments and Allmerica Financial, serving in a variety of business development, marketing, product and finance roles. 

Levy graduated magna cum laude and Commonwealth Scholar from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where he received a bachelor's degree in finance, and earned a master's of business administration from the Boston University School of Management. He holds Series 6, 7, 24, 27 and 63 licenses with FINRA and serves as chairman of the board of Aviv Centers for Living and is on the board of directors of The SPARK Institute. 

Levy lives north of Boston, MA with his wife and two teen-aged children, and enjoys golf, skiing, reading and long-distance bicycling.

She then went on to serve as the Head of Customer Service for ING's Wealth Management division and as Executive Vice President of Operations for Fidelity Investments Workplace Investing Defined Contribution business.

Barbara, a native of Los Angeles, CA, has a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Columbia University in New York.

James McGovern

James joined Corporate Insight in 1999 as senior analyst for e-Monitor, covering the electronic brokerage space. In 2003, he left e-Monitor to develop the firm's website audit practice. The audit is Corporate Insight's uniquely detailed framework for benchmarking the effectiveness of bank, brokerage, DC plan participant and DC plan sponsor websites. Since the October 1 acquisition, Larry has taken on the role of Chief Revenue Officer at WMSI. Previously, Larry held the roles of V.P. and General Manager of S&P Capital IQ Financial Communications and managed the S&P Capital IQ Wealth sales team for the Americas and the S&P Investment Advisory sales team for North America.

With over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Larry has accrued a unique combination of sales, product development, and management experience, including asset management, research, retail, personal finance, and retirement. Prior to his role at S&P Capital IQ Financial Communications, Larry successfully managed high-performing sales teams, including those at Securities Information (ratings), Equity Research, Investor Relations, and Global Accounts for Standard & Poor's. Marc Pester

Marc is a Senior Vice President with Prudential Retirement's Institutional Income Group. Marc is a recognized leader in the retirement industry speaking at several industry think tanks and conferences, including Pension & Investments, Institutional Investor, PlanSponsor, PlanAdviser and National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators (NAGDCA). Marc is a member of the NAGDCA Retirement Income Task Force. 

Marc joined Prudential in 1992, and has held a number of senior positions in Prudential's Investment Management Services Division. From 1986 through 1992, Marc served as an attorney for Sullivan and Cromwell in their general corporate practice, including handling corporate governance, securities law, mergers and acquisitions and investment company issues.  He received a B.S. (graduating Magna Cum Laude) in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Finance in May 1983 and a J.D. from New York University School of Law in June 1986.  Marc currently serves as a Committee member to lend expertise to the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy in connection with identifying appropriate planned gifts and implementing adequate policies and procedures in place to achieve the foundation's goals and objectives for growth.

Jeff Petersen

Prior to joining Franklin Templeton, Jeff sold qualified plan and non-qualified deferred compensation products as a Regional Retirement Director for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.

Jeff received a bachelor of arts from Washington & Jefferson College, and holds the designations of Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA), Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist (CRPS) and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC). FINRA Licenses include series 7, 6 and 63.

Frank Polefrone

Frank Polefrone is the Senior Vice President of Product Development for Access Data, a Broadridge Company.  He is responsible for setting the overall product strategy and overseeing the management of our Distribution, Finance, Data Management, Compliance and Risk Management suite of solutions. He brings an extensive understanding of the financial services industry, and a strong record of building business, technology and product solutions for investment management firms to this role.

Prior to joining Access Data, Frank was Vice President and Director of Financial Institution Sales for Goldman Sachs Asset Management. He also held senior management positions at both Federated Investors and Federated Services Company.  Frank has presented at industry events including NICSA (National Investment Company Service Association) and Strategic Insight Fund Trends Conference.  He has published articles on mutual fund distribution and industry trends.  Frank holds FINRA Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses. 

Frank has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from BucknellUniversity and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration from North CarolinaStateUniversity.

In this role, Joe has responsibility for products and services to over 6,000 retirement plans and custody accounts with over 3.5 million employees and supported by 2,300 teammates. His leadership focuses on client services and relationship management, operations, technology, strategic business solutions, risk and compliance, and total retirement outsourcing.

Joe has more than 25 years leadership experience in relationship management, sales, investments, trust administration, operations and systems. He has served in a variety of leadership roles in the institutional and investment areas including the mutual funds business, pension and employee benefits, institutional custody division, and chief administrative officer type role.

He earned a bachelor's degree from Franklin and MarshallCollege. Joe is active in the retirement industry as a speaker and participates in several executive groups such as the Retirement Services Roundtable. He is currently Vice President and board member of The SPARK Institute. Joe also volunteers in the Charlotte region on various charitable functions and was most recently an active board member on the Charlotte Catholic Foundation. Over the last several years, Joe has been named one of the 401(k) industry's top 50 most influential people by 401(k) Wire.

Jeremy Ross

Komen for the Cure Board of Directors and former Chair of the San Diego Race for the Cure, raising over $1 million annually in the battle to end breast cancer. Jeremy holds a bachelor's degree in finance and marketing from Washington University in St. Louis.

Donna Ross

(VMS) in January 2009 and is President of Retirement Revolution, LLC, which was formed to commercialize VMS's next generation retirement servicing technology, by offering recordkeeping and custodial services on both a direct and outsourced basis. Her responsibilities include establishing strategic alliances with business partners, developing new business opportunities, and identifying distribution channels for Retirement Revolution.

Ms. Ross has been a leader within the retirement industry since 1984. Prior to joining VMS, she was Senior Vice President and Director of Union Bank of California's Retirement Plan Services division. Preceding her tenures with Union Bank and VMS, Ms. Ross held positions with the Wyatt Company, and was the owner and founder of Ross Consulting. She holds Series 7, 24, and 63 Securities licenses. 

Ms. Ross is a Board Member of The SPARK Institute and former Board Member of the National Institute of Pension Administrators (NIPA) - Los Angeles Chapter.  She is a frequent speaker at various retirement industry conferences.

Dan Rosshirt

Dan has 25 years of experience developing business and product strategies for the leading companies in the retirement services industry.  Prior to joining Deloitte Consulting, he had his own consulting company focused on the retirement and asset management industries where he advised clients on product development; capability assessment/due diligence; strategic analysis; product and organizational positioning and business development. 

Before entering the consulting industry, Dan was Vice President and Head of Marketing and Strategic Planning for MetLife's Retirement and Savings group.  He also held the positions of Chief-of-staff and Director of Strategic Marketing for MetLife's Institutional Business.

Dan's work focuses primarily on operating model review and design including competitive benchmarking in areas of fees, costs and services, and transformative efforts including cost transparency, management reporting and customer experience.

Dan has written a number of articles and reports  including "Building Trust through an Enhanced Customer Experience", "Cost Transparency - How Retirement Providers are Transforming their Business" and The  ICI/Deloitte Defined Contribution/401k Fee Study (2009, 2011).

Steve Saxon

Steve joined the firm in 1979 following his graduation from Georgetown University Law School. He received his undergraduate degree from Colgate University.  Steve currently serves as the firm's Chairman.

At Groom Law Group, Steve works on a wide variety of administrative, litigation, and legislative matters involving tax-exempt organizations and ERISA.  Steve specializes in matters relating to Title I of ERISA, with respect to which he has obtained scores of advisory opinions and exemptions.  Steve has worked on numerous DOL audits of plans and financial institutions that service plans.  He heads up the firm's special practice groups on pension plan investments and on 401(k) plan administrative and investment management matters. Among other things, these groups focus on the ERISA, securities, banking, and tax issues that arise in connection with the offering of products to employee benefit plans.  Steve has been selected by his peers to be included in "Best Lawyers in America," and is top ranked by Chambers.

Special Olympics Board.

Ben Sheppard is Vice President of Plan Sponsor Services. In recognition of the tremendous opportunity to deliver the highest quality of service by increasing our focus on our existing clients, we established a plan sponsor services team under his leadership. This team unites those functional areas currently supporting plan sponsors, including client services (strategic relationship management and day-to-day consulting), investment services, education and ERISA consulting. Bringing this team together allows us to move away from a silo effect and maximizes our focus on common goals, along with directing efforts to deliver extraordinary service to plan sponsors.

Mr. Sheppard has more than 20 years of experience in the retirement services industry, and most recently led institutional sales, business development and consultant relations within retirement plan services. Prior to joining Schwab, he held leadership positions with Merrill Lynch and Fidelity Investments.

Mr. Sheppard earned a degree in business from Texas State University at San Marcos and has a master's degree in business administration from the University of Dallas. He holds FINRA Series 6, 7, 24, 63, and 66 licenses.

Ms. Skatchke manages the Wells Fargo Institutional Retirement and Trust Retirement Solutions Product Strategy and Development team.  Her efforts are focused on anticipating the needs of plan sponsors and participants and developing products to support those needs.  Wells Fargo Institutional Retirement and Trust provides retirement administration, benefits consulting, investment management, and trust and custody services tailored to meet the needs of institutional clients. Institutional Retirement and Trust is a distinct business line within the Wealth, Brokerage and Retirement Services area of Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., a subsidiary of Wells Fargo & Company, a publicly held bank holding company founded in 1852.

Prior to joining Wells Fargo, she managed Strong Retirement Services' Product Development, Product Support and Implementation teams.  She was also a manager with William M. Mercer Consulting Company.  Chris has been involved in the retirement industry since 1982.  She graduated from the University of Illinois with a B.S. in mathematics.

Steve Smalley has advised corporate sponsors of qualified and nonqualified retirement plans since 1990 and has been with Schwab since 2004. Mr. Smalley is responsible for developing an experience strategy for plan sponsors through the design and alignment of solutions to needs with a focus on striving to achieve a better retirement outcome for plan participants.

In addition to his experience with Schwab, Mr. Smalley was a Senior Manager of Human Capital Practice at Ernst & Young and was a Retirement Benefit Consultant for both Creative Benefit Strategies and Moskal Klein, two regional benefits firms. During his career, he has had the opportunity to serve clients with diverse offerings aligned with cost reduction and risk mitigation of the human resource function.

Mr. Smalley is a graduate of Cleveland State University where he obtained a bachelor of business in quantitative business analysis and mathematics. He is a member of The American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA) and holds the Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) designation.

Lisa Weil

Lisa has spent her career helping businesses improve the value of their product and service portfolio, with 25 years experience in the retirement, financial services, technology and human resource benefits outsourcing industries. Lisa has extensive expertise in product management and marketing, organizational development, change management, program management and solution delivery.

Currently, Lisa is a Vice President at ProcessUnity, a privately-held risk management software company. She leads the Service Delivery Risk Management business focused on providing solutions for financial service firms to manage service offerings with greater clarity, control and profitability. 

Prior to ProcessUnity, Lisa was a Principal Consultant for her own firm, Weil Consulting, and affiliated with key partners North Highland Co, and BridgePoint. From 2008-2013, she led several consulting engagements for leading retirement and asset management firms, to assess and implement service transformation strategies aimed at promoting profitable growth.  Previously, Lisa was Senior Vice President at Fidelity Investments, where during her twelve year tenure between 1996-2008, she held various product leadership roles, spanning across the institutional, retail and advisor markets, and held her Series 6, 24 and 63 licenses with FINRA. Lisa started her career in the software industry, where for nearly ten years she held technical consulting and product roles. 

Lisa holds a BS in Computer Science from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. She serves on the board of directors for The SPARK Institute. 

Lisa is a native of Massachusetts, where she now lives outside of Boston with her husband and two children. She enjoys skiing, pilates, traveling, and volunteering on local education boards and non-profit organizations focused on child enrichment.
